The Department of Kinesiology offers five undergraduate degrees and five degrees at the graduate level. The application process and funding is unique to each program. Please see individual program pages for more information.
Athletic Training
Athletic Trainers work alongside medical professionals to facilitate prevention, diagnosis, and intervention related to certain conditions impacting physical exertion both on and off the field. These may include heat illness, muscle strains and sprains, and more.
There is no graduate program in Athletic Training, but the Exercise Science program does offer graduate-level studies for Certified Athletic Trainers.

Exercise Science
The Exercise Science program offers undergraduate degrees in Strength and Conditioning and Exercise Science. The Strength and Conditioning program trains individuals to develop training programs and improve the fitness and performance of athletes and non-athletes at all levels. The Exercise Science program prepares students for research, medical, and graduate programs in the field.
The graduate program offers a Master’s and Doctoral degree in Kinesiology. Students apply to an advisor whose research best reflects their own interests. Our esteemed faculty is world-renowned not only for their principal areas of research, but for their broad collaborative efforts. Principal areas of research include Heat and Hydration, Heat Stroke, Physiology of Nutrition & Supplementation, Muscle Physiology & Resistance Exercise, and Cardiovascular Health and Blood Pressure.

Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy is a profession concerned with the restoration of function and the prevention of disability accompanying disease, injury, or loss of a body part. Graduates may practice in a wide range of settings including hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, public and private schools, private offices, homes, sports medicine centers, and industry. With advanced degrees, physical therapists practice as researchers and educators in college and university settings.

Social Science of Sport
The Sport Management Concentration prepares students for employment opportunities in marketing, promotion and production management of sports-related enterprises. The Coaching and Administration Concentration prepares students to coach and administer their sport(s) to individuals and teams at the amateur, collegiate and professional levels.

Sport Management
The MA and Ph.D. degrees in Sport Management prepare students in the theoretical, research, and where appropriate, applied dimensions of these fields of study. Further, the interdisciplinary nature of these concentrations affords students a considerable amount of flexibility in terms of areas of specialization.
