Outreach and Services
The Department of Kinesiology is proud of its associations with the Korey Stringer Institute, Husky Sport, and the Nayden Rehabilitation Clinic.
In 2010, the Korey Stringer Institute opened its doors in an effort to provide consultation, advocacy, research, and outreach for the prevention of sudden death in sport. This institution was founded in memory of Korey Stringer, a Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman whose premature death resulted from complications of heat stroke.
Through Husky Sport, the Department of Kinesiology helps to bring physical activity, health education, and opportunities to underserved populations, particularly in the Hartford North End area.
Our Nayden Rehabilitation Clinic provides premier physical therapy services to the community at large in our comfortable facility.
