Laurie Lee Devaney

Laurie Lee Devaney is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Kinesiology Physical Therapy Program. Laurie has over 22 years of clinical orthopedic physical therapy experience and has presented on both the state and national level on various orthopedic topics. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, NC in 1989 and earned a Master of Science in Orthopedic Physical Therapy from the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences in 2000. She is a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist and NATA Certified Athletic Trainer. She earned Manual Therapy Certification from the Institute of Physical Therapy and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists where she serves as Chair of the Professional Development Committee. In addition, Laurie is on the Board of Directors of the CPTA Education Fund. Laurie has taught in the Physical Therapy Program since 2001 with current responsibilities in the areas of physical agents, therapeutic exercise, musculoskeletal pathology, and spine examination/intervention. She treats a varied orthopedic outpatient caseload at the Nayden Rehabilitation Clinic with a focus on sports medicine, neck and shoulder dysfunction, pelvic pain, and osteoporosis.
