Department of Kinesiology
The Department of Kinesiology at the University of Connecticut is regarded as one of the best in the country. Our doctoral program was ranked #1 by the National Academy of Kinesiology. The faculty includes recognized leaders in the fields of exercise science, exercise and sport nutrition, athletic training, and physical therapy. The nationally accredited athletic training program is positioned to become one of the nation's top 10 programs. In addition, the productive research programs at the Human Performance Laboratory are widely recognized and published worldwide.
The Kinesiology Department prides itself on the strong connection between its various academic programs. While each program differs in terms of degrees offered, student requirements, or research scope, the faculty regularly engages in collaboration research projects. The Department is proud of its association with the Korey Stringer Institute and its commitment to eradicating heat stroke in organized sport. The Kinesiology Department is a part of the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut.
